Amigurumi Invisible Decrease Tutorial
So I made my little sister a texted tutorial for how to decrease since I didn’t get to teach her before she ran off to banjo camp. =.= I like it a lot though and wish I had something so specific when I was learning, so I’m sharing it here. TADA (PS: I learned the invisible decrease technique from June Gilbank’s book The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Amigurumi).

About to do a decrease…

Insert your hook in just the front loop of the next stitch (This piece is right side out, you’re inserting the hook in the loop on the pretty outer side).

Then you’re going to also insert your hook in the front loop of the following stitch.

Close-up of the hook through just the front loops of the two stitches.

You will have three loops on the hook now.

Now yarn over then draw through just the first two loops on the hook.

Just through the first two!

Now you should have two loops on your hook.

Yarn over then draw through both loops on the hook.

It will look like this. After that pull it tight.

Tada! Your invisible decrease stitch. You have to be careful about where you put your next stitch! Be sure it’s the next whole stitch, not the front loop that you used in your decrease.

Here I’m pointing to the next whole stitch after the decrease. This is where you would work your next stitch.
I hope this was helpful!
